Privacy Policy
ShootIQ ("ShootIQ," "we," "us," or "our") provides an iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to analyze basketball shooting videos and deliver feedback on shooting mechanics (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information to operate and improve the App:
- Email address / account information — used to create and manage your ShootIQ account, authenticate you, and communicate with you about your account.
- User-uploaded shooting videos — video clips you record in the App or upload from your device so that our AI can analyze your shooting mechanics.
- User ID — a unique identifier associated with your account, used internally to associate your data and activity with your profile.
- Subscription / purchase history — records of your subscription status and purchase history. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; ShootIQ does not collect, process, or store your credit card, debit card, or other financial payment details.
- App usage / product interaction data — information about how you interact with the App, such as features used, session activity, and general engagement, which helps us understand usage patterns and improve the App.
- Crash diagnostics — technical data such as crash logs and error reports, used to identify and fix bugs and improve app stability and performance.
We do not collect your precise or approximate location, contacts from your device, health data, or financial payment details (such as card numbers).
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Create, secure, and manage your ShootIQ account.
- Process and analyze your uploaded or recorded shooting videos to generate feedback and coaching insights on your shooting mechanics.
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and performance.
- Manage subscriptions and verify purchase status through Apple's App Store.

- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use.
AI Video Analysis and Processing
ShootIQ's core feature uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to analyze basketball shooting videos that you record within the App or upload from your device. This analysis identifies aspects of shooting form and mechanics (such as body positioning, release, and follow-through) in order to generate personalized feedback and coaching recommendations.
Your videos are processed for the purpose of providing this analysis and may be securely stored so that you can view your past analyses, track progress over time, and so the App can function as intended. Videos are not used to identify you to third parties, and we do not use your shooting videos for advertising purposes.
Some AI processing may occur using secure third-party cloud infrastructure or AI service providers acting on our behalf, solely to perform the video analysis functionality of the App. These providers are contractually restricted from using your video data for any purpose other than providing services to ShootIQ.
Data Sharing
ShootIQ does not sell your personal data.
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: With trusted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, AI/video processing infrastructure, analytics, and crash reporting — solely to help us operate and improve the App.
- Apple App Store: Purchase and subscription transactions are handled directly by Apple in accordance with Apple's own privacy practices. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Legal requirements: If required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ShootIQ, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit, restricted access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure for storing account information and shooting videos.
While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Account/Data Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of your ShootIQ account and associated data, including your uploaded shooting videos, email address, User ID, and usage data, at any time.
To request account or data deletion, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will verify your request and delete your data within a reasonable time period, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Children's Privacy
ShootIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to promptly delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
